The moment we saw Seven Sisters Arts Yarn at Vogue Knitting we stopped dead in our tracks: the hand-dyed colors are as rich and elegant as anything we’ve ever seen. Then there was the touch: wonderful combinations of finer merino wool, yak and silks. And after talking with Karen (the owner, hand-dyer and pretty much everything else), and getting a first hand feel for the passion she puts into her yarns, we knew we had to have her products in our shop. We’re starting with two lines: Apex and Astrid.
- Apex: A luxurious blend of merino (60%), yak (20%) and silk (20%) with a tight twist, this fingering yarn wears well, has amazing drape, softness, warmth and sheen. The natural color is a lovely oatmeal color adding rich color and depth when dyed. It’s the best of the best, hence the name Apex.
- Astrid: A shimmering single ply combination of merino (70%) and silk (30%), Astrid knits up into a lovely, flowing garments. Astrid is a Scandinavian name meaning divine strength, fair beautiful goddess.
